Vitamin Competence: Reap What You Sow

Take Action Today
For the past two weeks, we've been touching on increasing our competence.
And so far, we have discussed two natural laws: The Law of the Harvest and The Law of Probability.
These two natural laws in life go hand in hand together.
If there is one thing we need to adhere to, it's this: we reap what we sow. This is what the Law of the Harvest is all about. That, we can never expect winning results if we don't put in the time and effort that are required of us to win.
Sow negative thoughts. Reap losing actions.
Sow losing actions. Reap habits of destruction.
Sow habits of destruction. Reap a destiny of failure and misery.

As opposed to:
Sow positive thoughts. Reap winning actions.
Sow winning actions. Reap habits of champions.
Sow habits of champions. Reap a destiny of success and happiness.

Now that we are aware of the Law of the Harvest, we need to take it to the next level. The thing is, we do NOT necessarily reap what we actually sow.
Meaning, we do NOT automatically reap goodness when we sow goodness. To guarantee a rich harvest, we need to know HOW to sow the right way. Have you ever asked yourself, "How come a good person often (if not all the time) ends up living a poor life?". I have to admit that I have asked this similar question several times throughout my life, and I have heard a lot of people throwing out the same kind of questions:
"How come I'm still poor when I'm a good person?"
"How come my marriage life is poor, when I'm a good spouse?"
"How come my children are doing poorly, when I'm a good parent?"

The reason why we end up with poor results is because we put it in good effort. (Huh? Can you say that again?) That if you want a great life, you need to do so much more than just doing good. We must realize that good is never really enough. This where the second natural law comes in. The formula for the  Law of Probability looks exactly like this:
Sowing poorly guarantees that we reap nothing. (Yup, you read that right. ZERO.)

Sowing fairly good guarantees that we reap poorly. (Aha! That's why I'm still living a poor life!)
Sowing very good guarantees that we reap fairly good. (Well, at least it's getting better.)
Sowing excellently guarantees that we reap very good. (There you go! Now we know how to live a very good life.)

But do you really want to know the secrets of champions?

Again, it's not only 'what' we sow, but more importantly 'how' we sow.

So if you want to reap and harvest a life of success and happiness, we have to sow not only excellently but to sow excellence consistently.

Meaning, to become champions of life, we need to pursue perfection day in and day out with no exceptions.

Later this week, we will be learning about the third and last natural law of increasing competence -- The Law of the Outliers.
