The Get Connect-Ed Program is the OLPMC Learning Continuity Plan amid the global crisis brought about by the #Covid19 pandemic. At OLPMC, we believe that learning must never stop. Given the right people to guide them, our children has the natural gifting to learn in any given space and time --- whether they are onsite or online attending classes, as well as offline or off-site working on their own.
- Co-Education is the OLPMC Homeschooling Package where the learning of the child is managed by the parent at home.
- Connect is the OLPMC Distance Learning Package where the learning of the child is managed by OLPMC at home.
- Complete is the OLPMC Blended Learning Package where the learning of the child is managed by OLPMC at its campus and at home.
There are three principles that you need to consider in making the right decision.
- Purpose. How do you want to your child to learn?
- People. How is your child performing?
- Preparation. How much involvement do you want in you child’s learning?
For Co-Education. As the Parent manages the learning of the child at home:
Your purpose is that you want your child to learn more than academics. You want them to grow in character, and not just in competence.Your child is already an independent learner and copes up with lessons quite easily.You have all the time to manage every aspect of your child’s learning.
For Connect. As OLPMC manages the learning of the child at home:
Your purpose is that you want your child to meet all the academics milestones, but safety is a key issue for you.Your child can be an independent learner and copes up with studies with little assistance.You have limited time to manage your child’s learning.
For Complete. As OLPMC manages the learning of the child at home and at campus:
Your purpose is that you want your child to meet all the academics milestones, and will need as much support for your child as possible.Your child is not yet an independent learner and copes up with studies with much needed assistance.You have little time to manage your child’s learning.
In order to ensure quality, we have to make sure that we keep our Student-Teacher ratio low. So switching packages is not allowed since it will affect teaching loads and schedules.
Another is safety. The slots for the Complete Package is very limited. Once slots have been filled, we cannot change it to ensure that we keep our children safe while on campus.
To ensure quality of learning experience, a student must have access to a computing machine (tablet, desktop computer and/or laptop). Although mobile phones can also be utilized, it will limit the learning experience of our students.
The computing machine must also have access to at least 1MBPS at any given point.
What makes us different is our belief in the natural gifting of our children to learn in any given space and time --- whether they are onsite or online attending class, as well as offline or off-site working on their own. And that all they need are the right people to guide them.
