OLPMC SUMMER ROAD MAP 2020
To our beloved OLPMC Parent-Partners:
As we officially end our Academic Year 2019-2020, we wish to thank each and every one of you for trusting us with your child/ren. With the #Covid19 crisis, the last quarter of our year has truly been challenging for all of us. And we wouldn’t have finished the year strong without your much-needed help and unquestionable support.
In this letter, we wish to share with you what to expect in the coming days and weeks, as we shift our time and attention towards the upcoming Academic Year 2020-2021. Attached to this letter is the OLPMC Summer Road Map 2020 Calendar to provide you a better understanding of our schedule. OLPMC will be dividing and dedicating its energy and efforts in three phases:
Closing and Concluding the OLPMC Academic Year 2019-2020. For the next two weeks, our Academic Team will be collating all of the assessments in order to compute the final grades of our child/ren. It also involves deliberation and preparation for the final OLPMC Parent-Partner Conference. This conference will be held through digital platforms during the last week of this month, starting the 25th of May 2020.
Within the same time frame, the OLPMC Administration Team will also be reconvening and reopening our campus offices once the ECQ has been officially lifted. One promise that we intend to fulfill is to review our financial statements in order to decide and determine the amount and terms of your refunds, as a result of our operational savings for the current academic year.
Planning and Preparing for the OLPMC Academic Year 2020-2021. OLPMC is launching two crucial initiatives to help us better understand the needs of our families. First is the online survey that we prepared for you to complete by next week, no later than the 14th of May. The second is the focus group discussions that we will be holding with some of you on the following week, starting 18th of May.
Based on what we have learned from you through these two initiatives, we will be incorporating them into our preliminary planning to be held by the OLPMC Core Lead Team scheduled to start next month. They will later be joined by the OLPMC Academic Team after all the academic requirements have been cleared.
As we hold our final OLPMC Parent-Partner Conference, we will be inviting some of you to join the OLPMC Executive Parent Council (OPEC). Your participation in this council will be another crucial step to improve our services to our families.
For the first time in the 40-Year history of the OLPMC Community, we will be inviting our Parent-Partners to participate in the decision process on how we will be operating for the upcoming year. Our community will be holding our very first OLPMC Plenary Session that will involve our different stakeholders: the OLPMC Core Lead Team along with the OLPMC Academic Team, the OLPMC Parent Executive Council (OPEC), and hopefully, we are also joined by the OLPMC Student Executive Council (OSEC) and the OLPMC Class Officers.
Orienting and Opening for the OLPMC Academic Year 2020-2021. The essential outcome of the (very first) OLPMC Plenary Session is to design an OLPMC Learning Continuity Plan that we will operationalize for the Academic Year 2020-2021.
The manner that we will be testing the OLPMC Learning Continuity Plan is to do it by conducting OLPMC Summer Workshops for a smaller size of the student population. To be done during the month of July 2020, these workshops will be catering to students-at-risk, from all the different grade levels, who need intervention to better equip them for the upcoming year.
OLPMC will be following the directive of the Department of Education to officially open our Academic Year 2020-2021 on 24th of August 2020.
Another important aspect of the OLPMC Continuity Plan is to better equip our Parent-Partners and our Captains to have a stronger year ahead. And this will be done by deploying orientation sessions for both our parents and students during the second and third weeks of August 2020. We will be oriented on the standards that we will be adhering to, and on the systems that we will be utilizing to hold our classes as planned and anticipated ---- onsite and offsite, as well as online and offline.
For now, we will need your help in three areas:
First is to make sure that all of the academic requirements of our child/ren have been submitted to their Class Teachers and Class Advisers. This is to make sure that we complete our final grading to hold our OLPMC Parent-Partner Conference. And that we duly submit all of our reports and records to the Department of Education for the Academic Year 2019-2020.
Second is to openly and honestly answer the OLPMC Survey. To do so, please click here.
Third is to enlist for the OLPMC Focus Group Discussions. To do so, please click here.
The information that you will be sharing in our survey and group discussion will make sure that we have a better understanding of your needs and expectations. It will help us lay the proper foundation for our preliminary planning sessions to be held by the Academic and Administration Teams starting next month. This in turn will also equip us to conduct our very first OLPMC Plenary Session in a more effective and efficient manner to be held in July 2020.
Thank you again for the time and attention given to this matter, and looking forward to your much-needed support.
Your OLPMC Community
